Dear Daydream Believer,
I became intrigued with Dr. Dyer when I discovered him on PBS a number of years ago. After that one viewing, I went out and bought his book, “You’ll See It When You Believe It.” I read many of his books, and that is how I was introduced to Hay House. It wasn’t long before I envisioned myself visiting Dr. Dyer one day, maybe even working with him in some way, and letting him know how much I loved and appreciated his work.
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true…
In 2010, when my husband and I were planning a trip to Maui, I remembered that I recently read that Dr. Dyer lived on Maui, and I got a nudge to write a note on a piece of gold paper that I folded up and placed in my “God Jar.” The note said that I would meet Dr. Dyer on Maui and hand him a copy of book I had written, of which I just received the first two presale copies. That was it. That was my wish.
“The greatest gift your were ever given is your imagination. Within it is the capacity to have all your wishes fulfilled.”
Dr. Wayne Dyer
Not knowing where he lived or how to find an address for him, I truly did practice everything Dr. Dyer shared in his books. I set my intention, and then I went about enjoying my trip. Once in a while I would ask a waiter or hotel attendant if they knew Dr. Dyer. Some did and some didn’t. Some knew he lived on the island and others had no idea, but no one could tell me where I might find him. I continued to go about our trip until one day, as we were driving along, I looked up and I saw a man who looked like Dr. Dyer in a vehicle driving into Lahaina. My husband, changed lanes so we could follow him until we could no longer see the vehicle. At that moment, I felt a calm and simply told my husband, “I am fine. Let’s enjoy our trip. If it’s meant to be, it will happen. He probably does book signings. We have a few days left, and I just want to have fun with you.” I felt like I completely let go of thinking about it and trusted in the intention.
Then one day, while getting ready to go to Hana, my husband pulled into a parking lot. When I asked what he was doing, he said, “You mentioned that Dr. Dyer might do book signings, so let’s find out.” Without remembering that I even said that, it remained with my husband who had seen a bookstore in this parking lot several days before. So, I walked up to the door and found it was locked. I began walking back to the car telling my husband I appreciated his efforts when, all of a sudden, a man came walking down the sidewalk and pulled out a key to unlock the very door where I was just standing, so my husband said he would wait while I asked this man if he knew Dr. Dyer.
As I began to explain that I was wondering if Dr. Dyer might do book signing here, his eyes lit up and his smile widened. This sweet man told me he did indeed know Wayne Dyer, “Dr. Dyer is a friend of mine.” And with that, he wrote down his address and gave me directions on how I might visit with him, telling me to let Dr. Dyer know who sent me. What a wonderful and magical sequence of events, such an alignment of the stars as Dr. Wayne would declare in his writing, and with such grace and ease.
The next day, I went to visit with Dr. Wayne who was doing a live Hay House Radio show at the time, so I was invited to come back the next day. When I did, Dr. Dyer, graciously greeted me in his swim trunks, because he was spending time by the pool with his grandchildren. I got to hand him a copy of my book and he thoughtfully offered me an autographed copy of his latest book and movie. We talked about how we both had encounters with sea turtles that morning while swimming in the ocean, and I could feel his excitement as he described it in detail. He was so kind and gentle, and I could see his love for children as he interacted with my young daughter.
At the end of our visit, we took a few pictures. One of them has remained very special to me. In the photo of him with my family, there is an orb right over my head, something I found he began to discuss more often and, later, in his book, “Wishes Fulfilled.”
I spoke with Dr. Dyer two times by telephone following our meeting and, each time, he asked me if I was going to be on the island again soon. He offered such genuine and heartfelt advice to follow my heart and keep focused on my visions. The day I heard he made his transition, I was moved to tears and, at the same time, I felt so grateful for having met him in person. I truly believe it is because of reading his work that I was open to that magical flow that brought us together for that moment in time.

~Make it MAGICAL~
You’ll see it when you believe it. Today, I invite you to simply believe. Write it on your heart or on a piece of paper. Then if you have one, put it in your God Jar. If you don’t have one, this is an invitation to give it a try.
