21 Beautiful Days of Gratitude Day 13: Kisses, Hugs, and Simply Living
When I reflect on this day, I feel gratitude for simplicity…
Waking up, getting out of bed, packing lunches…these are the simple things. Hugging and kissing my boys good-bye, driving my daughter to school, meeting my husband for a morning mass on his day off and then meeting again at the gym…the little kiss before going our separate ways only to meet again for a lunch date. Sitting side-by-side, sharing food, coming home and taking an afternoon siesta for a bit before kids come home from school.
I am grateful for morning routines, dates of all kinds, and kisses.
Seeing my son’s face at the end of the day, feeling his relief that it’s Friday. Going to the market, shopping for everyone’s favorites, a list I made last night when I asked what they would like for Thanksgiving this year. Veering off my path to go to the little wine shop and picking up my most favorite peanut butter in the world called Joy to the World! Yes, Joy to the World, indeed.
I am grateful for my son’s countenance, shopping for my family, and my favorite peanut butter.
By the time I got home, my daughter hugged me, and we snuggled as she told me about her day. Then, I prepared a simple dinner as we put our picnic blanket on the livingroom floor and watched a movie together. Simple things. Moment by moment living in the world, the one I continue to envision and refine. Life is good and all is well.
I am grateful for snuggles, picnics in the livingroom, and Friday night family movies.
with love for the simple things,
